I am excited and honored to serve as the Head of School at Renner Academy. With 30 years of experience in public education, I am deeply passionate about supporting students—especially those with learning differences—as they discover their strengths and build confidence in themselves. Throughout my career, I have been committed to creating an environment where students not only succeed academically but also feel empowered to embrace their unique talents and potential.

I spent 22 years as a classroom teacher, which gave me invaluable insight into the importance of personalized education and the power of building strong, meaningful connections with students. Following that, I served as a campus administrator for 5 years, supporting both teachers and students to ensure that our school was a place where everyone could thrive. My career then took me to a district administrator role for 3 years, where I served as Communications Director and Special Projects Director, driving positive change and fostering collaboration across the district.

After retiring from public education, I joined Renner Academy in December of 2022. I was drawn to the school’s mission of helping students with learning differences. At Renner, we foster a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to grow as thinkers and leaders. I am truly excited to be part of a community that believes in every child’s potential.

As I continue in this role, I am dedicated to working alongside our incredible team to provide an educational experience where every student feels valued and supported, and where they are inspired to believe in their own future as leaders in their communities.

Shaunna Savage
Director of Renner Secondary

I am truly honored and humbled to serve as the Director of Renner Secondary Academy. It is a blessing to have this opportunity to contribute to the success of our students and the broader community. With 29 years of dedicated service in public education, I bring a wealth of experience and a deep passion for supporting student growth and achievement.

My journey in education began in the classroom, where I spent 12 years as a high school special education teacher. During that time, I built strong relationships with students, helping them discover their unique strengths and learning styles. I then transitioned into school leadership, serving six years as an assistant principal at the primary level, followed by 11 years as a campus principal at both primary and secondary schools.

After recently retiring from public education, I am thrilled to return to my roots—directly supporting students in their educational journeys. Joining RSA is more than just a new chapter for me; it’s a return to where my passion for teaching and student development began. I firmly believe that every student has the desire to learn and succeed, and I am honored to walk alongside them during these critical years of academic and personal growth.

At RSA, my role extends beyond supporting students. I deeply value the importance of building strong, collaborative relationships with parents. I recognize parents as essential partners in education and am committed to being a supportive ally as we work together to ensure our students thrive. Open communication, mutual trust, and shared goals are the foundation for creating an environment where every student can flourish.

I look forward to helping our students explore their interests, identify their goals, and prepare for life beyond high school. Whether they plan to pursue college, career, or other post-secondary opportunities, my mission is to guide and support them every step of the way, ensuring they are confident, capable, and ready for what lies ahead.
